Do Dogs Need Flea and Tick Medicine? – PET | TAO Series: Ask Dr. Marc Smith! Dogs Best Medz Google+ Dogs Best Medz Facebook Dogs Best Medz Twitter

PET | TAO co-founder, and TCVM (Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine) veterinarian, Dr. Marc Smith, explains why dogs need flea and tick medicine.

“Hello ladies and gentlemen, I’m Dr. Marc Smith, 20-year practicing veterinarian, and co-creator of PET | TAO Holistic Pet Products.

A question I get all the time is, “Should I use flea and tick medicine year-round?” See, I practice in the south, and in the south, I’d recommend, “Yes,” and it’s because of our humidity and our temperature.

In the north, I tend to say no, but you’ll have to talk to your veterinarian about it.

The reason why I recommend it year-round is because these little pests, these little critters can be quite a nuisance to your pet.

Even in 50 degree weather, 55, even 45, they can hatch out and infest your pet quickly, and be just an absolute nuisance.

Not to mention they can infest your house, and be an absolute nuisance.

Down here in Tennessee and below, I recommend using flea and tick medicine year-round.

If you want to learn more information, and your want to empower yourself on how to really take care of your pet, then go to, and educate yourself. Thank you.”
